Paper Birds

I decided to take a break from putting up the Christmas tree and make a tutorial on how to make these cute paper birds.

First cut the shape of the bird out.
When the bird is cut paint dots on the belly of the bird and once that is dry paint another dot with-in that dot. Repeat on the other side of the bird. Cut lines in the tail a few milometers apart.

Next, cut out the wings. It's a good idea to fold the paper so you can cut two wings at the same time.   After the wings are cut fold them like you would fold a hand held fan.

Before you put the wings on punch a hole in the top of the bird so you can tie a ribbon through it. Make sure the hole is in the right spot so that the bird doesn't tip to far forward or back.

Glue the end of the wings together and then glue them on the bird. I used double sided tape but if you don't have that just use glue. And that's it!

I love making these birds they're so easy to make and they look really nice! When you're done you can hang them anywhere and they'll look nice, even on the Christmas tree!

Thanks :)

Photo Journal

Last weekend there was a submarine from the war being pulled to a museum through the canal in my city. It was a BIG deal because it looked like half the city came to watch.

Just arriving at the canal and I thought I would take some pictures because it looked like we would be
    waiting for a while.

I got tired of waiting so I started to look for things to take pictures of. I thought these flowers were
    beautiful.

It turned out the submarine was delayed so we decided to take a walk and I found this tree thing.

    The skyway.

My dog, Ozzie looking at another dog.

Everybody thought it was the submarine, but it turns out it was just a boring old boat.

After two hours of waiting around it was finally here!!! And not as interesting as I thought it would be.

I think the tugboat is more exciting than the submarine itself!

    And there it goes.......

  Thanks :)

Christmas Card

I hope everyone has had a great week. I can't believe I have already started to make Christmas cards!

I started this card by making the image in the middle. For the image I used a rubber stamp and coloured it in with gel pens (background and the presents) and pencil crayons (the bear). I also used glitter glue for the brim and pom pom of the hat. The corner parts are cut from a card somebody already gave me. The snowflakes are foam with glitter on top.

You can't tell from the picture but I used double sided adhesive stickers to make the paper stand out from the image.
This is the inside of the card.

I would like to enter the card into these challenges,

Incy Wincy Designs - Hip to be square
Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
